How Herts Young Homeless Group is governed and managed

The Directors (Trustees)
The Directors are elected annually and are the ultimate governing body of the structure of the organisation. The Directors meet bi-monthly to discuss issues affecting the organisation and monitor work plans and finance. Directors have overall responsibility for HYHG policy and development, and for ensuring there are resources to run the organisation.

The Chief Executive
The Directors delegate the day-to-day management of the organisation to the HYHG Chief Executive who is directly responsible to the Directors. The Chief Executive liaises with the Operations Manager and the rest of the Management Team in order to carry out this role.

The Operations Manager
The Operations Manager assists the Chief Executive in overseeing the day-to-day management of HYHG through liaison with the Management Team and the Directors. The Operations Manager acts as Deputy when the Chief Executive is unavailable.

Prevention Manager
Responsible for all prevention work which includes Young Persons Caseworkers, the Under 16s Mediation Project and 16/17 years Mediation Project, and the management of all team members in conjunction with the Chief Executive and Operations Manager

Crisis Intervention Manager
Responsible for all Advice & Support work and the Crashpad Scheme, and the management of all team members, including host families, in conjunction with the Chief Executive and Operations Manager

Health Development & Tenancy Sustainment Manager
Responsible for Dual Diagnosis work, Young Offenders Support work, the HHAH! counselling service and all Resettlement/Floating Support work, and the management of team members in conjunction with the Chief Executive and Operations Manager

Assistant Managers
In addition to their normal front line tasks, Assistant Managers deputise for senior management in their absence. They undertake supervision of some staff and assist senior management in the day to day running of thier project.

Finance Officer
The Finance Officer and Operations Manager, in conjunction with the Chief Executive work closely together to submit finance reports and budgets to the Directors. The Chief Executive and the Management Team are responsible for the day-to-day finances of the organisation.

The Management Team
The Management Team consists of the Chief Executive, Operations Manager, Prevention Manager, Crisis Intervention manager and Health Development & Tenancy Sustainment Manager.

HR Officer /PA to Chief Executive
The HR Officer/PA to Chief Executive is responsible for payroll, recruitment of paid staff, and personnel issues. They also support the Chief Executive, to whom they report directly.
