Floating Support
| Floating Support The floating support service is open to 16 – 25 year olds throughout Hertfordshire. In the areas of North Herts, Stevenage, St Albans and Dacorum this service is provided by Aldwyck Housing Group on behalf of HYHG who cover the rest of Hertfordshire. Both organisations are committed to a consistent level of service countywide. What is Floating Support? Floating Support will normally begin once a service user is placed in emergency or temporary accommodation, although support can be offered at an earlier stage, such as when an individual is still at home, or living with friends. A floating support worker will visit service users in their accommodation and offer support in such areas as paying rent, budgeting, managing benefits, and accessing healthcare. They can also make referrals to other agencies such as Drug and Alcohol services, mental health services, social services and training providers. Visits to service users take place as required, whether this be twice and week or once a month on the service users needs. |
