Crashpad offers safe, emergency accommodation for homeless 16 and 17 year olds and care leavers (up to the age of 21). It operates across Hertfordshire to support young people in housing need and forms part of the Young Persons Homeless Prevention Service.

Referrals into the scheme are through Herts Young Homeless Group’s Advice and Information workers. Support for the young person is offered throughout their stay with the opportunity to be referred into HYHG specialist services including Mediation.

Young people will usually stay with a host family for up to three weeks. The volunteer hosts will provide a room in their own home, breakfast, and evening meal and use of the bath/shower and washing machine. There is no charge to the young person for these services, as expenses will be paid to the host family to cover their costs.
